Miss World 2019: Nepal’s Anushka Shrestha wins ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ title and Multi-media award

This project is set up in more than 140 countries and every year contestants are asked to take part in these projects and help make the world a better place. The platform allows these talented women use their skills and voice to bring about real change in the world.
Every contestant is given the task of putting forward their project and at the end, the judges decide which project should be given help from other organizations. The ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ charity gala dinner was attended by distinguished guests including the Baroness Benjamin OBE, Marsha Rae Ratcliff OBE, and John Ratcliff CBE.
Finalists included beauty queens from Magnolia, Malaysia, Tunisia, Venezuela, India, France, Nigeria, Nepal, Vietnam, and Indonesia. Towards the end of the competition, Nepal’s Anushka Shrestha was announced as the rightful winner.
Shrestha has been an advocate of educating girls and her project was also focused on the same. “My BWAP project, I have chosen this multifaceted community upliftment program that aims to create a sustainable and duplicable development model,” she said. “This project aims to work towards creating a visible and sustainable improvement in the quality of education of girl child, by mainly focusing on economic upliftment of mothers through livelihood generation.”
‘Beauty with a Purpose’ was started by Julia Morley, the chair and CEO of the Miss World Organisation, and ever since its inception women have been working with her to bring a change in society.

Miss Nepal Anushka Shrestha has to satisfy with the top 12 title of the Miss World 2019.  However, in the Miss World contest held in London, she bagged two big titles–Multimedia and Beauty with a Purpose.
Anushka took to her Facebook post and shared the news and wrote, “I couldn’t get a place in Top 5 of miss world 2019. I gave my best.  ”
